Jerry, Jeff and Greg Longspaugh started their go for broke, bootstrap, new construction, plumbing service business in 1997. Their father and mother were in the construction/excavation business in the seventies in northwest Fort Worth. It was a good thing that Jeff and his brother Greg were young and strong. The young men were able to work for free for many, many, many years. Unfortunately, Jeff lost both his brother and father in separate incidences, but he continued the business as ClearWater Plumbers in 2001
Jeff spent years as the lone master plumber answering the phone under houses and doing the work by himself. Since then, Jeff tricked his wife into answering the phone and hired some good people. ClearWater Plumbers represents 23 years of hard work and learning. The business looks like an overnight success on the outside, but really the business has been a test in persistence and a lot of learning and applying (work). At ClearWater Plumbers we love a challenge, we love to make people happy, and we love to have fun. Today Jeff is the Chief Master Plumber at ClearWater Plumbers.
Aside from work Jeff is also president of Lake Country Property Owners association. There are 1,100 homes in the boundaries of the association. On the board for 6 years and president for 3 years, Jeff has made several trips to work with the Fort Worth city council in manners related to the northwest corridor.
Jeff is also a family man. Married since 2004, he has 3 daughters, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 20? chickens and 2 goats (don’t ask). Last night wife and daughters were trying to sell him on India Blue peacock chicks. Jeff Goggled the beasts to see if they fly well. Not sure they could contain the birds, but they sure are pretty. Stay tuned.
From soccer to volleyball, elementary and middle school students, plumbers, and apprentices, Jeff is a super coach. He connects well with others and enjoys helping adults and kids make themselves better. He genuinely cares and wants to make a positive impact on the world.
When he is not working, he is working… but he likes it, so is it really work? Jeff loves to learn, a sponge for knowledge to make himself better. He is the kind of guy that buys the audio book and the print book. When Jeff is doing yard work he listens and highlights the books. Marking them up for future reference and better retention to memory.
Jeff has been told he has an entrepreneurial spirit by many peers. Frequently he is labeled a Visionary because of his clarity in problem solving and a knack for recognizing opportunities. He knows that his current business is really a small part of the big journey in the long run. Jeff is optimistic about the future and all the chances he has to match new products and services with people that will benefit from bringing an idea to life. He has some exciting startup companies on the way.
